Facing off with Marc-Edouard Vlasic, Joe Pavelski and Jonathan Cheechoo

OMG, Sharks hockey tomorrow! :D

Facing Off with San Jose Sharks D Marc-Edouard Vlasic
October 1, 2007

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA (TICKER) -- PA SportsTicker recently obstructed San Jose Sharks defenseman Marc-Edouard Vlasic and held him long enough to ask the following questions:

1) What CD would you have to have with you on a cross-country drive?

I'd say The Killers' ("Hot Fuss") because it's a great CD, and about half of their songs I love. Their last CD they came out with ("Sam's Town"), there's a couple of songs - "When You Were Young" and "Read My Mind."

2) Who is your favorite cartoon character of all time?

Garfield. I watched it growing up and I loved the stunts he'd pull.

3) What celebrity "melts the ice" for you?

Angelina Jolie. Britney (Spears is) not hot right now. If she comes back and does well when her CD comes out, maybe I'd say her then. But not right now.

4) Who is your all-time favorite roommate on the road?

Matt Carle. I've been with him all year, only one year at this level. He's quiet, and that's what I like. (He's) not a guy who makes a lot of noise, he doesn't snore. I'm the one who snores from time to time. He's a quiet guy, and I don't like it when there's too much noise.

5) What's the worst movie you've ever seen?

I saw the new "Halloween" the other week and I didn't like it. I prefer the original. The last one was too far-fetched. Also, "Epic Movie." That or "Scary Movie."

Facing Off with San Jose Sharks C Joe Pavelski
October 2, 2007

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA (TICKER) -- PA SportsTicker recently obstructed San Jose Sharks center Joe Pavelski and held him long enough to ask the following questions:

1) Who is your favorite cartoon character of all time?

I think Popeye growing up. I watched that, but he kind of got taken off TV. I don't really know what appealed to me. He just always got the job done once he popped his spinach.

2) Who would portray you in a movie about your life?

Matt Damon, maybe. That's a good match. I guess we're pretty good look-alikes, I like to think. And, he can act a little.

3) What celebrity "melts the ice" for you?

There's a bunch of them, hard to pick just one. Angelina Jolie is right up there for me. Those lips are something else. She's just, everything! The whole package. Well, maybe not all those adopted kids. We'll have to see how that works out.

4) Who is your all-time favorite roommate on the road?

Rob Davison, gotta go with Rob. I roomed with him quite a bit last year and we just got along good. We each had our things, let each other do our thing, and it worked out really good. We got along well on the road, we get along good here. We didn't really hang out a whole lot. On the road, guys go their own way sometimes. But when we were together, it worked really well.

5) What family tradition do you have during the holidays?

We would always cut down a Christmas tree at my grandpa's house at Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He owned quite a bit of land and had acres of Christmas trees that we would go to cut one from. That was something when I was growing up. It's kind of drifted away as everyone's gotten older. We had a big addition with a pretty high ceiling where we always had a tall Christmas tree. That was special to us.

Facing Off with San Jose Sharks RW Jonathan Cheechoo
October 2, 2007

SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA (TICKER) -- PA SportsTicker recently obstructed San Jose Sharks right wing Jonathan Cheechoo and held him long enough to ask the following questions:

1) When playing a round of golf, what trio of famous people would you enjoy being with?

Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan and Wayne Gretzky. They are the best ever in their sports and they were all champions, so it would be fun to have a round of golf with them. It would be a really competitive round, I think. I probably wouldn't take too many skins in that game unless I cross-checked Tiger into the woods.

2) Who is your favorite cartoon character of all time?

I don't know, I've never watched a lot of cartoons growing up. Not many available in Moose Jaw, (Ontario). Bugs Bunny, I guess. I've seen him the most.

3) Who would portray you in a movie about your life?

We'd probably get Adam Beach. He kind of looks like me. He'd probably be the best bet. He's from Canada, I think from up in Manitoba.

4) What celebrity "melts the ice" for you?

Jessica Alba. She's cute. She looks GOOD in a bikini.

5) What's the worst movie you've ever seen?

I remember I walked out on it, but I can't even remember the name, that's how bad it was. I don't think there were any big-name actors in it. Definitely Adam Beach was not in it!

Jessica Alba is such a favourite amongst boys from around the entire PLANET. My goodness.

Oh! Do the Sharks still do SharkByte? Some of those were hilarious! :D

Jessica Alba is pretty awesome! :D

Yep, you can watch it here. The Rivet/Davison bit is priceless.
