Was fun watching the baby hockey players today. They are young, but most of them don't look it. *leches after baby!Czech goalie*
Not such a fun hockey day. Sharks lost, Ducklings lost, Canucks lost, Bolts lost, Stars lost... but the Flyers and Oilers won? :P
Haven't read the recap of the Sharks game (and it wasn't televised at all), but from the stats, it looks like the Sharks put in a good effort, but Passmore was really good? Not unhappy about that--happens to all teams.
Stole a survey thingie from
Year in Writing, 2003
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Umm, I wrote 29 fics, and 5 complete series, and 2 incomplete series, and yet I have the general feeling that I've written less than the amount I wanted to? *grin*
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2003?
Hatcher/Fischer. *cringe* Foppa/Hinote. Never thought I'd ever write Hatcher or Foppa. Sens fic. (Fucking Sens)
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest.
*ponders* I don't think any of them made me really happy, exactly. I think they all lacked that... earnestness(?) that was present in fics I wrote last year? I'm not sure. Maybe it's just that it's not new to me anymore? I like to do new stuff. :P
Perversely, I might actually like Playing With Fire the most because it made me uncomfortable and embarrassed. ;)
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
I wrote Kariyacest for Robyn's birthday (Crossing the Line) and I'd never written incest before. This also made me uncomfortable. Yeah, and Playing With Fire because, umm, Hatcher/Fischer hurt sex? *twitch*
I learned that I like to be uncomfortable!
Umm, seriously though, I think there's a certain level of discomfort and/or embarrassment I have to feel about fics I write for them to have an impact.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
To be very uncomfortable when I write!
To write new things--new genres, new styles; to have better focus when I write, whether it's the one situation, or emotion, or sentiment or even just the one line at the end I'm writing the fic to reach (which is how I wrote Supernova).
Finish Cerulean Sky, Ice Cream Assassin and Bare It All. And possibly Right On Time while Guerin and Downey and mini-Mo are still in Dallas. ;)
